Imaginative Respite for Carers
We can organise a service of breaks for Carers who are providing regular and substantial care, who live in the City of Stoke-on-Trent. These sessions provide an opportunity for the Carer to have some quality time for themselves - away from the person they care for.
The breaks that we provide are extremely varied. Carers are able to access:
We can also provide practical training to help Carers in their role, such as:
- Complementary Therapies
- Card Making
- Nail Art
- Well-being walks
- History walks
- Nail Art
- Day Spa Passes
- Support Groups
We now have the facilities within our Head Office to offer the following:
- First Aid
- Moving & Handling
- Stress Awareness
All therapies and relaxation sessions are performed by trained therapists.
- Complementary Therapies - including Indian Head Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Reiki
- A quiet space for reflection
- Selection of self-help books for short term loan
- Private discussion space
If you would like more information about any of these respite opportunities please contact Irene Abbotts on 01782 831617.
This service can only be accessed if the Carer has had a Carers' Assessment. Social Care carry out Carers' Assessments, in order to look at the needs of the individual Carers. A break provided by NSCA may be identified as a need.
