Carers Well-Being

Self Assertion & Self Esteem

Over the coming months there will be a series of five stand-alone workshops based around self-assertion and self-esteem. Attendance at any one would be beneficial but each would contribute to an overall improvement, offering tools and skills to develop assertiveness and self-esteem. These workshops will cover Care for Self, Learning to say 'No', Dealing with Anger and Self Esteem - What is it?

To take part in any of the series please contact Nicola Brough on 01782 831617. Sessions will be 2 hours in duration and located throughout the Newcastle & Moorlands. Places are limited to 20.

Emotional Well-being

Our emotional well-being is always changing. It can be affected by all sorts of things, including our lifestyle, past experiences, our attitudes, our value & belief systems, current circumstances, expectations and genetic factors, to name a few.

As a Carer your lifestyle may be frequently restricted and many Carers do become mentally and physically exhausted by their caring role. This may cause your health to break down, which is why it is important to look after yourself.

Problem Areas
  • Physical
  • Mental
  • Tiredness
  • Stress
Help Yourself - Remember
  • Carers need to be mentally and physically fit
  • Carers deserve time for themselves to relax
  • Carers need to think about themselves
  • Value yourself - start thinking about your physical, emotional, sexual, spiritual, mental and social needs

REIKI LEVEL ONE TRAINING

Reiki is Universal Energy. This ancient system of healing is a safe, powerful but gentle way of using light; energy vibrations to restore & balance you and others and therefore it can encourage an individual's self-healing and personal development. The purpose of the session was to train Carers how to use Reiki for themselves.

Reiki training was delivered to Carers in both the Newcastle and Moorlands areas. 16 were invited to attend two seminars delivered in October over two sessions in both Newcastle and Leek. All met with the requirements for the training and were certificated at the end of the second session.
