Much fun was had at the Easter Residential for Young Carers in the Musketeer project. As we see from the above photo’s some of the many activity’s that were engaged in. Lasting from early morning until night time.
The Young Carers enjoyed their time away from the caring role, where they made new friends which targeted the social isolation which sometimes happens with Young Carers.
A lot of laughter and support for each other was observed, not only during activities but also during down times.
A lot of empowerment was gained as some of the Young Carers were initially reluctant to participate in certain activities. By the end of the residential all Young Carers were participating in all activities as well as inter-relating, also building on self esteem.
Most importantly the young carers had the time to be themselves with no external pressures.
