Edward Gostling - Take A Break Project

The Take A Break Project supports Young Carers aged 5 to 16 years.

Offering one to one support with a named Support Worker giving Young Carers a chance to have an age related chat, provide some ' me ' time or a chance to speak openly to someone

outside the family.

Social groups/clubs offer Young Carers a chance for children to be children, make new friends and gain support from others in the group.

What happens when i am referred into the Take A Break project?

You will be allocated a named Support Worker who will be your contact at the Young Carers Department. Together we can put an action plan in place to help with your caring role.

The support you will received could be:

One to one support with a named Support Worker to chat with you find out about your caring role and what support you would like to receive from the project.

You will be referred into our social groups and clubs.

It is really important to us in the Young Carers Department that you feel valued as a Young Carer and that you do not feel alone.

The Young Carers Team are here to help you in many ways:

To help you feel good about helping the person you care for.

To get the right support and reduce the impact of your caring role.

To help support you with any problems that may arise due to your caring role having an impact on your educational and emotional development.
