Working in partnership will allow North Staffs Carers to refer Carers to Potteries Moneywise who will provide a Financial Wellbeing Service for Carers living within the Stoke-on-Trent area. 

 

The service offered will be via either telephone, I.T. screens, face to face (1:1) in a confidential setting and if needed during a home visit.

 

The service will provide advice on managing money and benefits, including form filling, applications etc.

The Service

Upon the initial appointment, clients are issued the advisors direct contact details for their convenience.

 

Every client referred for support receives a benefit check or a benefit

application/review.

 

By completing this review it will ascertain what financial support is needed :

 

  • Debts and Money Advice

  • Benefit Appeal

  • Universal Credit

  • Council Tax Hardship

  • Fuel tariff Check

  • Switch Supplier

  • Energy Dispute

  • Benefit Check/Applications

  • Budgeting and Money Management

  • Charity Applications or Grants

  • White Goods

 

For example:

 

  • Carer maybe potentially eligible to receive PIP who have not acknowledged their own health issues.

 

  • Applications for Carers Allowance, Attendance Allowance

 

  • Support surrounding benefit applications such as applications for utility bills such as a reduced water bill, white good grants etc.

 

  • Budgeting advice and energy efficiency measures which can be put into place.

 

Upon closing a case, clients are encouraged to re-access the service at any time in the future, should they require further support.
