The Musketeer Project has now been launched at North Staffs Carers Association. The project aims to support Young Carers 8 to18 years old around their emotional and educational needs and takes on a whole family approach in order to minimise the impact of the caring role. Support is provided through a named key worker who can support the Young Carer by providing support around education, one to one support and offers counselling.
The team have been busy setting up the project and taking referrals. Also they have been out and about talking to many Young Carers in schools and colleges making them aware of the project and how they can access it. The team have also met with various professionals to ensure they are aware of the project and to ensure they can support Young Carers who they come into contact with.
